To start the New Year with a bang, Almighty has delved deep into the vaults to finally bring you our most-requested reload single, the fantastic 'Without You' by Obsession, featuring the vocals of Miriam Stockley!
'Without You' was a 1970 song released by British rock band Badfinger which has since been covered by no less than 180 artists, including best-selling singles for Harry Nilsson in 1971, Mariah Carey in 1994 and Almighty's very own Obsession also in 1994!
Miriam Stockley was a house singer for Stock, Aitken & Waterman's studio productions and she appeared on many household name's mega hits such as Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan! She also sang backing vocals for Tight Fit, George Michael and even Freddie Mercury, before later being given an award for The Most Successful Vocalist In World Recorded Pop History by the SAW team! Quite the career!
As well as two brand new Almighty Boys mixes of this classic track, the reload features the original Pop'd Up mixes, a few unreleased gems - including the fab Definitive Mix discovered in the DAT archives and the vinyl-only Retro Mix - plus the superb early outings of the Mary Brazzle mixes too!
Mary Brazzle might be a familiar name for a lot of Almighty fans, with Julian Gingell and Barry Stone behind a number of our classic mixes including Hannah Jones and Abbacadabra! The duo, who were originally known as Jewels & Stone have recently reinvented themselves as The Alias, a top songwriting and production team with credits including The Saturdays and Girls Aloud!
